How long will it take for my dog to start seeing results?

In a randomized, double-blinded, positive-controlled study by the University of Illinois Department of Animal Sciences, in which dogs with osteoarthritis received glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate for 70 days, significant subjective improvement in scores for pain, weight bearing, and overall condition were observed relative to baseline.

Can the ingredients in these chews prevent hip and joint issues for my dog?

A study published in the Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics concluded that dietary supplements such as glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate have the capacity to provide anti-inflammatory and anabolic effects that could protect joints. This protection includes not only cartilage, but also bone. Furthermore, the researchers stated that dietary supplements could provide long-term rather than short-term effects as long as they are regularly and conscientiously administered.

Are hip + joint supplements only for older dogs?
